I have checked the bulbs and the fuse and both are in working order. Can someone tell me where the switch is located on a six speed box?

I can not seem to find the switch. Is it on top of the trans or on the side? In front or in back of the shifter? Any help would be appreciated.

Look on the extension/adapter housing. I imagine there are wires running to the switch—unless thats your original problem. ;)

With an original post date of 3/16, you're certainly patient.

backup lights not working.

do not know if you got it fixed or not but have seen this on other trucks. shortly after trans was changed by dealer the backup lights quit working. fuse was ok at first but after a while it went south. turned out that the wire for the backup lights runs on the left hand side of the trans near the top. in fact right by some sheet metal screws that had chafed into the wire. simple fix and no more problems. hope this helps you if you are still having problems.

My switch went bad shortly after I bought the truck. It was replaced by the dealer. No problems since. I thought it was on the right side of thr transmission?? Jeff

Thanks for all the replies. I finally got it working. It was the switch. 54 dollars worth of switch. Anyway the switch is located on the passenger side of the trans about half way up. From the responses I have gotten, it looks to me as if they moved the switch. Not sure. But thanks again for all the replies.
