oaky i bought those white knight lights and worked great but to no avail they don't fit with my hitch or my lighted ram insert i got for x-mas. it seem after i cut the thing to pass threw it won't let me use my hitch pin nor let me put my lock for hitch pin on so looking for other idea's.

so if you could send/post apicture of your set up that would be great.

now i'm not looking for pictures of big ugly fog light mounted to the rear bumper anyone can do that i'm looking for low profile stuff that's not all that noticable or so stylish looking stuff thanks for the help !

datablitz,

Those look Exactly like the ones I had. Didn't even have to drill, just used the sticky tape. Mine were Fog Lights that I got at one of the local parts houses. They didn't seem to brighten things up enough for me though, so I went to TSC and got 2 of the Trapazoidal Tractor work light and mounted them beside the ends of my hitch under the bumper. Now these Puppies are bright. Just like headlights on the rear. I highly recommend.

Paul,

They aren't quite as low profile as the picture here, but tucked up under the bumper they look very natural.

Mine looks like the Hella 90601 setup on that page, but I think my lights are just a bit smaller. I'll try to post a piture of mine tonight.

those are white lights, very bright... . i have a buddy that has the same lights on the front of his truck, says they are as bright as his headlights... . they cost about $30

Have you tried re-drill the hole in the reciever bar to allow for the clearance?

That's what I did over two years ago.

I wouldn't want to back up without my WhiteNights now. :D

I've got the same setup as RabidRam. They're inexpensive and out of the way so they don't get broke. Did I say they're bright too?

Here's mine. Need to adjust them a little better. The two hanging off the hitch are pretty slim line and are brighter than they appear.

It's all good... it wouldn't be the first time that's been said about me. You hit the nail on the head... it's YOUR truck. Do what you think looks/works best.

Whatever route you choose, I highly suggest you purchase lights with a metal mount and metal housing if possible. I have gone thru TWO sets of backup lights in less than 10 months. All threw enough light for me, they just couldn't stay attached.

The first set was the all plastic kind that you can screw down or use double-sided tape. It was very low profile. I chose to bolt it down. The plastic base broke within a couple months. Not sure how, but it was hanging down by the wire one day. The next set I got had a metal bolt for mounting, however, the light housing was still plastic so it became very brittle when cold and cracked where the metal bolt came out of the plastic housing. (And no, it wasn't too tight, just tight enough to stay aimed correctly. )

I'm off to find my third set and I'm probably just going to go with a single light this time called a tractor / utility light. It has all metal mounting hardware and housing. Probably tuck it up underneath somewhere OR put it just to the side of the hitch itself, just under the step portion of the bumper.

Maybe the third time will be MY charm and everyone else can learn from my mistakes. Doooooooh

Ugly + Lots of Light

"I highly suggest you purchase lights with a . . . metal housing . . . "

I chose ugly along with a non-metal housing in favor of lots of light from a high-quality lamp. Each Hella 90601 boasts two 55 watt H3 bulbs for a total of 220 watts of added light to the rear.

I just couldn't see anything while backing up... so I installed these... I wanted them to be plenty bright, but not too goddy... What do you think???? :D

If ya look closely at my headache rack right below the lights on top you will see mine. I put a set on my Moms truck by using existing holes in the bumber. They are mounted in a rubber housing with metal mounting hardware. Been on both trucks for over a year with no problems at all. They are a tractor work light so they throw a wide beam with lots of light. There about $10 through JCWhitney.

I have these identical lights... they really throw out the light.

Mine are mounted on a 2" wide piece of flat steel that I bent 90 degrees and welded to the ends of my stock hitch. No problems in three years of use!!

Take a look at my gallery. I've got pics of my setup during the day, and a night-time shot. Those are 55 watt lights and they definitely light things up... much better than the stockers.

those look good, seems to throw a ton of light, where did you get them?

i'm starting to like the mounting on the ends of the receiver hitch under the truck
