remember the days of the true mechanical oil pressure gauges?

Huge difference between diesel fuel and oil, multiple attirbutes. Even bigger difference between plasticized nest of wires as compared to metal and minimal wiring back in the day.

Imagine being trapped in a vehicle with fuel spraying the passenger compartment after a wreck. Violates all tenets of common sense.

Guess common sense doesn't apply to add-ons. :-laf

Guys none of this is rocket science-So many supposed up-grades are less reliable and harder to test than oem. My sugestion, never change parts because some company makes something they call an up-grade.I had a friend that won a Fass system at our (socal rattlin ram event at Foothill ranch) When he started having intermittant dying issues he brought it to me to diagnose.
It had to run a good distance before it would act up.I spent a good amount of time getting to the root cause.I narrowed it down to his prize Fass being the issue.I called them requesting more info on how their system diagnostics should be done.Their first question was what is the invoice number,I explained it was a door prize they had raffled off at our show. They refused to give me any info since my customer had not paid retail and I was not a dealer for their product.I called my buddy at Pdr who promptly e-mailed the info I was seeking.Thank you Harry. At that point it was evident the ck valve was at fault and a known issue.Calling Fass back they sent me a new ck valve of the proper diameter A very pricey system that was improperly engineered and lack of respect to the poor guy trying to make things right. How much did Fass loose by there poor decisions??? I have never recommended their product since that experience.I see hundreds of CTDS evry year and refuse to use their product to this day

I would love to "keep it simple stupid" but the VP trucks have suffered probably the worst of the worst as far as OEM lift pumps go. I fried 3 of them on my former 00 before giving up and going to something else. Neither AD or FASS is the answer as far as I'm concerned but I had one given to me and knock on wood it's been holding up so far. When it goes I have no idea what I'll do, I have a spare motor but won't be comfortable for long running that with no back up especially far from home like last week. Like I said I wish they would have stuck with the mechanical pumps.
