Bad Brake Transmission Shifter Interlock(BTSI)
This weekend I bought a trailer and hooked it up to the truck, started the truck to pull off and couldn’t get the truck to come out of park, tugged on the gear shift (not too hard) and nothing. Thinking it might be the detent ball in the valve body I put a little more pressure on the leaver and broke the cable connector at the shifter#@$%!. I crawled under the truck and removed the linkage at the Trans and was able to shift the Trans by hand. I pulled the electrical connecter off the BTSI and was able to pull and push the broken shift cable into any gear with ease…Just a FYI.
