My Dakota Digital fuel guage showed '0' psi both before and after the fuel filter. Took truck to dealer and they said my senders were bad. They needed the truck 4-5 days to check transfer pump, get several readings, call cummins, varify, since it was a 'star' item would have to order from 'star'.

I got home and installed a 'tee' and mechanical guage before sender and had '0' pressure.

Called another dealer. Made appointment. Got there, they took the truck 'around'. I went back to check in 30 minutes and they were in the prosess of removing my pump and replacing it. Total 1 1/2 hours after arriving, I was on my way, no charge, and had 13psi at idle and could only pull it down to 10. 5 at wot.

It is good to look up and see 11. 2 at 70mph.

I inquired about the first dealer and was told thay had to take down their '5 star' sign. Maybe Chrysler does check them and require some amount of quality service.

Just had to tell someone.

From what I've heard, 5 Star is actually difficult to achieve. A friend of mine's parents own a dealership. They were turned down for 5 Star certification due to weeds growing out of the sidewalk in front of the building! I'm sure that zone to zone there are differences, and this was before Daimler  , so maybe things have gotten a little more lax.

hummmmmm more interested in looks than good repair service... He He go figure

5 Star is a joke at best !!

search until ya find the good dealer, they are out there

RONO, How about some names--rest of us should avoid that first stealer... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... R, J. B. :D

The first dealer was "East Texas Dodge" in Tyler Texas owned by Allen Samualls. He owns many different dealerships located in many places.

The second dealer was "Elder Chrysler Dodge" in Henderson, TX. They are about 65 miles from me but it is worth it.

Good luck at Hagan's in Morrilton, Arkansas, on every visit so far.

(And not that many visits in 97k. )

Replaced steering box under warranty at about 35. 9k; took care of the clockspring and battery cable recalls quickly, same day service and warranty replacement of lift pump at about 81k. And if you buy there, a loaner car to get to work. The initial dealing was low key with straight shooting, "I'm ready to buy, how much over invoice?" Also got everything on the order correct even when I phoned in a couple of last minute changes the next day.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but I think the good ones deserve some recognition here in public. :)

The others are still around because some folks tolerate bad service or have never had good service to compare with. Once you have good service, you will not settle for less and will gladly pay for it (to a point).

I went to SOUR LAKE MOTOR COMPANY in Sour Lake, Tx to get my truck inspected. As soon as the inspector saw my A-pillar gauges he said " I see you voided your warranty already". I told him that all I had were some gauges to monitor my engine and he said "Yeah, right". He told me that Dodge had sent a memo out to treat any truck that had add-on gauges as suspected of being modified.

So much for being innocent till proven guilty.

Nothin' but good.........

Weaver Motors in Kirbyville Texas has treated me right several times. I drive about 90 miles from Louisiana to take my truck there. I have tried the local shop and it takes half a day just to get it parked in one of the empty bays where it sits until someone gets around to looking at it. I call Weaver and explain what my truck is doing and they ask what time I can be there. I drive over and within 30 minutes after arriving I know what is wrong and what it will take to fix it. Great people to deal with!!
