 Last week my gauges died along with my overhead, the message NO BUS is displayed in the odometer display. I've seen other post with the same problem. Has anyone found a fix? I've heard "replace the ECM, PCM, or ECU".

The gauges and everything I mentioned have been dead ever since I made the post. I still drive the truck since it's my only form of transportation; I've been using a GPS as my speedometer. I wish it was a glitch but it hasn't shown any signs of coming back from the dead.

If all the gauges died, and the fuse is not blown, turn off the ignition, disconnect the 3 cables from the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), clean the connectors, pack with dielectric grease, clean the ground under the one screw of the PCM, and put everything back together.

There could be an intermittent connection issue. All the gauges are controlled by the PCM with data supplemented from the ECM (Engine Control Module).

Thanks for all the suggestions but I found the problem. Oo. Believe it or not it was the gauge cluster, apparently the plugs in the back were loose. If you have ever had your gauge cluster out you would never think they could, in a hundred years, work there way loose. For any of you having the same problem you should try this fix first. The code my truck gave was " 1698 -TCM/PCM NO CCD/J1850 MESSAGE FROM" and "NO BUS" was displayed where the odometer would normally be displayed. Also thanks to SMARTY for resetting the check engine light after I fixed the problem. ;)

I also need to thank the TDR web site for having a form search engine. I never would have suspected the gauge cluster if not for a previous post, THANKS TDR this site just payed for itself ten times over.
