I posted earlier about having the surging with my truck after the dealer looked at it and replaced two sensors and after last night with it being almost undriveable and limping back to the dealer I was pretty worried it was something major. They called and said that they got 8 or 10, not sure which, codes set by sensors saying incorrect voltage and one saying ECM Failure. The guy is going to check and see if when they worked on it last they knocked a ground wire loose but said most likely I will need a new ECM.

If I do need a new one I will loose the reflash that I got from Mark at TST back before the trouble he had with Cummins. :(

The dealer just called and confirmed that it was a bad ECM and said a new one from Chrysler was $1470. I told him I would get one and bring it to him, he is an aquaintance. He had no idea that you could get them cheaper from cummins until I told him that they had them for about $800. So I ordered it through them and it will be here next Wed.

I sure love my truck but it sure has been expensive.

I have a new question. Cummins said they could program my ecm for me or I could have the dealer do it. Would there be any way I could get Cummins to do it with something similar to the one Mark at TST used? Maybe the RV program or would that not work with my truck? I don't want it to be wrong just wondering if they could program with something better than the dealer will.

From what I remember Cummins and or Dodge came down hard on the ECM reflash way back when.

I've been a member since 2000 and it was just going down before that.

It was a great deal but the upper dogs put a big hurt on the deal :(
