Archived Bad engine knock on I 84 West enroute to Elma,Washington

It is almost 10p. m. and we are 35 miles from Portland enroute to Elma, Washington and have a very loud/serious sounding engine knock. Is there anyone out there who could tow a 41 foot 5th wheel camper to Elma? I am trying to make it there to start work tomorrow at 5p. m. We are still currently driving but not sure how much farther the truck will go. Please call if you can help... 309-657-0061 Jason

The OEM injectors on my '06 passed a cylinder performance test performed by a skilled Level 4 trained and certified Cummins tech at somewhere over 200k miles and the truck was still running great at 230k when I sold it.

Are yours factory Cummins injectors or aftermarket?

Sounds more like a EGT problem than a fuel injector problem. 41' fifth wheel could really get temps up fast.

mfburns, 2003 truck/engines on up have an electric valve that opens up to allow fuel into the injector they can stick open any time.
