You didn't say what your boost is or if your pyro is pre or post turbo. If post and boost is low, look for a boot leak at inlet to intercooler. Can cause your problem.

if your boost is low, check the lower intercooler hose on passenger side at the bottom. it tends to cut itself against the inner lip of fender and cause boost leak. 700 egt is not bad at all, i wish i could keep mine near 700. if thats not it, check the screen in the fuel preheater, sometimes clogs up causing low power too, just some thoughts, Dave.

Check all your boots, and clamps. If they're stock, you'll need a deep 11mm socket. The boots can slip just slightly and cause enough of a boost leak to be noticeable. A loose clamp can do the same thing, so be very sure the clamps are well located on the boots and tight.

If these things don't work, you can also remove the air intake hose (from filter) from the front of the turbo WHILE IT'S NOT RUNNING. Check the turbo shaft for tightness. Turbo's sometimes go bad.

If you can't identify the problem, keep watching your gauges. It is possible to have a leaky intercooler as well, although less likely. It's a pain to remove it from the truck for testing (about $10 for test), but better than melting a piston. Not trying to scare you, but I've seen it...

Well, I didnt believe a spring would do this, but I had the same problems you had. . 11-1200 preturbo and poor mileage. . I stretched my overflow spring a bit and my power came back, mileage came back, and i cant get my pyro to 800 at all..... weird. . i duno how that happened, but i aint argueing. .

good luck

I lost 250 miles per tank full as well. Found out it was the rear strap holding the tank up, let go and let the tank hang down in the rear so I couldn't fill it up.

The overflow spring is on your overflow valve. This is located on your injection pump. You need to replace the valve. Stretching the spring can cause other issues with your filter. It only cost about $50 dollars and is a good starting point after you check for boost leaks. If all above checks out OK you may need to look at timing and valve adjustment. Hope this helps.
