Pump just went bad, after a little lookin around I found out the lift pump wasn't pulling the fuel to feed it like it should have....airdog is on it now, never want that $ problem again

bummer. I replaced my lift pump yesterday.....truck quit runnin the other day. Now it starts better, idles better, better low end power - with only a lift pump and filter change! Makes me want to put a gage in there (or at least a quick way to connect a gage) to monitor lift pump fuel pressure from time to time. Otherwise we don't know if it's supplying fuel to the ip like it should (even though it's only supposed to be 3-5 psi (unmodified)).

They have fittings you can get that have a spot for a guage , you might even had bad seals on the fuel lines comeing into the lift pump as well and still could at the tank

Ya, was thinking the best place for a gage is right of the bleed port between filter and injection pump. Maybe as simple as replacing that bleed port banjo with a gage port banjo (like Genos sells for 2nd gens). Will have to look into this. Correct, with age of these trucks bad seals on the suction line can introduce air, and can lose prime. Sometimes may not leak fuel, but can still suck air.
