Bad injectors?

What actually goes bad on our injectors? Is it the tip, solonoid, both, or neither?

tips can wear out from running pressure boxes that increase rail pressure along with dirty fuel or the combination of both. The solenoid on top opf the injector can also wear out. So it is just a matter of which piece wants to fail.

It seems that most complaints are injector knock, or an injector that does not fully open/close. I'm assuming these would be solonoid related?
