Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bad lift pump?

I have a comp and dd 2's. When I turn the box on level 2 or higher (fuel) I get surging from half throttle to WOT. It just starting doing this, is this the sign of the lift pump going?

Without a Fuel Pressure guage it's hard to tell you what it could be. Could be APPS sensor , Cam sensor , Lift pump , Cam sensor , etc. At least with a guage you can lean your areas as to where to look.



Me I would double check the COMP'S ground as that is a often mishap.

ToolMans right without a fuel pressure gauge its hard to tell. One thing he forgot to mention is a dirty fuel filter will also have the symptom's you described.

I had this problem when I installed the Comp. It could be a bad LP, but it could also be an older style box. I called Edge and they sent me a new one free of charge... problem solved.

I just changed the fuel filter, but I am going to put on a fuel pressure gauge today. Thanks
