I have a bad oil leak between the power steering and the vacuum pump. Is this just an o-ring or is there a gasket. I need to get it fixed asap. Leaks bad.

It's a seal, plenty of info in archives try a search. I believe a member has them for sale or you can get it from part house.

Dodge has a kit you can buy from them put does not include seal for vacuum pump.

The seal kit is like $9 from Cummins, well at least for my 2nd gen it was. It even included details instructions in the kit, with pictures and everything.

Or save yourself $50 and get the kit from Cummins... which is in the guys "kit". The stock seal is single lip, the one that comes in the Cummins kit is dual lip.

He has some seal drivers, which sockets or pipe work just fine for, and a DVD... well the instructions in the Cummins kit are very clear on how to do it.

I tore mine apart not knowing anything about it and I had it all done in a Saturday afternoon, with the worst part being removal and replacement back in the truck. I also found the brace that goes to the steering pump was about to fall off, as well as a few of the nuts holding the pump on, so it was a good thing I fixed the leak!

I went to a cummins place to get the parts. The guy couldn;t find a break down or the seal kit. Does anyone have the part number for the kit.

Thanks Scott

I had posted the part number on here when I replaced my seals, let me see if I can find that again.

Now that was on my 2nd gen, so I'm not positive if the 1st gen's are the same?
