So, yesterday I was "tying down" some wires while the truck was running. and when I would touch the Rail pressure harness the motor would stumble! After some debugging I wasn't able to get the motor to stumble with the rail pressure gauge (dipricol) unplugged. This is a first. That gauge, other then getting a little confused here and there, was the thing I never worried about!

So I cut it out and I'll see if I can repair it. Anyone know where you can get the plastic ends that plug into the sending unit and the stock harness (I forgot what they are called).

Right now if it's in, and "cut" the truck will throw a high voltage error and the motor will no run very well. Sounds like a cross between a 12v and a vp44 truck :)

I've had the same thing happen to me on my truck. One day it died and threw the high voltage rail pressure code. I unhooked it and it ran great. Before that, my gauge would not work every once and a while and my truck would stumble.

When I hooked it back up, I noticed that the connectors didn't snap together. I ziptied the connectors together and have not had any problems since.

Not the best solution, but it has worked great.

The connectors are Metripack I believe. You can buy a lot of them from here:

Wire Terminal Connectors, Relays, Crimping Tools and Much More - Terminal Supply Company - Home

When I wanted to "clean up" my SPA rail pressure gauge installation by adapting my SPA rail pressure gauge to the stock harness without t-tapping the stock harness, I noticed that DLeno sold a harness with his DiPricol gauge. I contacted him and bought this harness separately and then bought the connector to mate the SPA gauge to his harness from the above link.

Another alternative for you if you haven't butchered the plugs is to buy the tools from the website link above so that you can release the pins out of the connector. Then get new pins with connector seals to crimp onto the wires and then pop them back into the connector.

Another alternative is if you have a pressure box you don't really need anymore, then you can release the connectors off of it to re-use. However, you would still need the pin release tools.

Here's a thread I started that talks about using Metripack connectors for stock looking wiring projects.

Hope this helps!

So, the connectors were not "pushing together" enough?

heh, felts solid to me. I think I'll give Dipricol a call Monday and see what they suggest. I'm going to run the rail gauge with the tst R49. So I'm going to need both, but I'd like to keep things separate, and not modify the stock wires.

Yea, I didn't notice it when I initially installed the gauge. But after having the problem I was more aware of how they were going together.

I have read about others having the same problem with the gauge not working from time to time. But since using the zipties, it works every time.

wow, so I took the 2 ends from the RP gauge harness it self and plug it into it self. . there is a nice bit of play there! I'll call DiPricol in the morning and just get a new set sent over. be easier.

Looks like I need

PBT-GF30 One male and one female end. Anyone have a line where I can get just a single connector and not just a bulk of 30,000? The terminalsupply site there doesn't appear to have a match that I can see

Dipricol want's $50-60 for a new "harness" for this end of the cable.

I'm sitting here, looking at my "broken" TST timing harness. (the new one works). I has these 2 exact connectors I need. The bill in the box was for $60 if I don't ship it back. I wonder if the TST folks would be so kind as to cut me a deal if I clip these wires and send the rest of the harness back...
