I went today to get my oil changed at Eastgate Dodge in Greensburg, PA . Well , I won't EVER here again. Yesterday I stopped to make an appointment to get my oil changed. I asked the guy at the service desk how long it would take, he said 30 min. or so. So I made the appointment for 2:30 figuring I'd be out of there by about 3 . I got off work a little early and showed up at 2:20. Again I asked the guy how long it would take and again he said about 30 min. So after giving him my keys I went in and watched TV for awhile. Ok , it's now 3:00 and I get up and go see how things are going. I looked out the window into the service bays and I see my truck with the hood up and the guy is looking for a new oil filter wrench because he just broke the one he had (trying to get my filter off). After about 10 min or so he gets the new filter on and starts to fill the engine with the new oil. Then he checks the air pressure in the tires and fills the ones that must be a little low. Next he checks the washer fluid and fills it with the blue stuff (I WAS using Rain-X deicer) . Now it's 3:50 and I've been there for 1 hr and 20 min. and I'm a little ****** off because I had made plans and now had to cancel them. When I go to pay I told the service guy I wasn't happy because it took so long. He said ,well the guy did brake the filter wrench , all of 2 min. delay ( I was watching ) . After telling the guy I wasn't happy he said the oil change was on him :D. I will still never go back because they new I was in a hurry no one ever came out to tell me it was going to take longer.

That is exactly why I do all of my own services. It only costs me $28 to change my oil using 12 quarts of Rotella and the Chrysler filter. And I ahve a pretty tough time getting it done in 30 Minutes. They should have had the courtesy to tell you they were having trouble and just let you go with the change and nothing else.

You'd be horrified to find out how much those service advisers make. You would think they could do more to take care of the customer, and make it a decent experience (like keeping you informed, and pushing the techs. a little). You shouldn't have to leave feeling angry, and I don't think many Dodge dealers understand this.

There is no better day than when you finally take on the maintenence yourself. Nobody can love your truck more than you, and it feels good to know it's being done right. I absolutely love working on my truck, and dread the day I ever have to let someone else touch it, even though I found a good dealership to take it to. Hopefully it'll go strong until the warranty's done, and I won't ever have to step foot in the store until I'm ready to buy a new one.

I normally do the work myself , but it's been dam cold here and my rockcrawler is taking up alot of space in the garage. I really only have enough room to fit the truck in. I even have the oil and new filter (cummins) sitting in the garage.

When I told the service guy about the Rain-X he said that they had no way of knowing . I told him he should have asked first. His remark was they aren't going to ask ever customer what kind of washer fluid they have in there car or truck. So I said how long does it take to ask ? 2-3 seconds

While I was watching my truck there was a guy in there for a state insp. that was beening told he needed a track bar ,$300 , new front tires , $250 , front end alinement $50 , and some other stuff I can't remember but it came to $750

I wish the dealership I bought my truck from was closer, they were great. btw it was Kempthorn in Canfield, OH

Hopefully I never have to take the truck in for warrenty work . But if I do it won't be to Eastgate.
