How can you tell when your shocks need repalcement. The springs are too tuff to bounce like a car. At 18,700 mi I think I'm about ready.

But, after a dip the front end only goes up and down twice. the rear is still hard except when the trailer in on.

I traided in a 98 that had 40K miles on the bilsteins. First thing I noticed about the new truck is the factory shocks suck!

the oem shocks are crap, get a set of Bilsteins and be done with it.

Turn your truck into a sportscar :)

To answer your question, I find that the truck does not come out of a heavy dip in the road and may bottom out... that's when I figure the shocks are shot and need replacing. Only answer I have.
