I had a converter and valve body installed about 2 weeks ago by atomic transmission. the guy seemed to know what he was talking about boy was that a load of crap. he had my truck for 4 days for the install and another week to try to get it to shift right. still does the same thing. this is just me venting i guess and a warning to anyone in northern md and southern york county. stay away from this place

If you're ok with it, please post what you paid for the TC and VB and labor. What brands did you get? What is the shift issue??

I'm investigating getting the whole transmission done and am looking at $4800 to $5200 for a "bullet proof" transmission with Dunrite components.

Thanks,

Louis

I'd like a shop name or some clue who and where it is. That way we know who to avoid.

LRutigliano: If you get a trans with dunrite stuff you'll probly never regret it. I drove one and it was awesome.

Just drive up to DTT in Canada and get the real thing. SNOKING

i got a dunrite converter and valve body. the converter is great and when i first start the truck and take off it shifts great once it locks up it goes into limp mode. the converter was 900 and the valve body was 450. the labor was 600 what a waste that was. also the people at dunrite have been more than helpful just ask for Tony. as for the transmission shop its in jacobus pa. its named Atomic Transmission

I think with a name like Atomic (bomb), That would have been the first clue. You probably got a Billet single for 900, not what I would have gotten. If he says you got a 3 disk, then he's prob. lying. What year truck is it, this is very inportant for us to know.

yes its a single disk i have no need for a triple. i tell you what this dang truck has been nothing but aggravation. and dodge in all their wisdom cost me a pile of money with that stupid in tank pump. burned up 2 vp44s

I have a friend (trying to get him to join TDR) that has an 00, dually, ec, 2wd with a 47RE, and says that it is not shifting out of 1st. Is this just a sticky valve? Rebuild will cost about $2000. Sticky valve about $50, how do you go about finding out what the problem is? MDobson

Dunrite includes a diode that is installed on the pressure transducer wiring after install of the VB kit. Did this get installed correctly?

Thats what I am thinking also. BTW, Tony is great! He always seems very busy but always tries his best to help out and talk you thru stuff.
