I just thought Id tell you guys and ask of any similar problems. I changed my oil to day, and noticed oil on the outlet connection, I saw oil on the back of the compressor previously and thought nothing of ot. I pulled the intake tube to get to the filter and low and behold, the compressor is covered in oil. the truck only has 64k on it. kind of sucks, dont know if its going to be warranty, but I really wanted to upgrade anyway. budget is tight so it looks like I might pick up a used hx35 to replace the hy thats on it. the only thing done to the truck is an ez, and 4"mbrp turbo back and an intake. if you have an hx let me know, I may take it off your hands ;)

You said you have an intake... If it is a re-usuable filter, make sure you haven't over oiled it. Check the tube between the turbo and air filter to see if there is oil in there...

Does the turbo shaft have any end play? Is there any indication that the compressor has been hitting the housing?

Don't give up on it to soon, but if it is putting oil into the intake, replace it ASAP.

That turbo is too small for a stock truck, why push it with even an easy?

Bob

thats why I dont even want to have them warranty it, I should just upgrade. it has a k&n its not over oiled, no oil or dust for that matter in the intake, I might try to get them to put an hx on it instead under warranty if I can

The turbos are restricted as a rule, they VERY rarely fail in normal svc. When approval is given it is the reman version of what you have.

Bob

Have them warranty it. Then you can upgrade if you want. At least you'll have a new backup turbo to sell or use in a pinch.

Or----to use as part of a twin setup Oo.

yeah that was what I was thinking. I just hate my dealer working on my truck, they are a joke. and take forever. and right now its the only vehicle I have.
