Competition 2nd Annual DPM diesel Shootout

Competition AZ guys Come on out

OK, my throw out bearing went out on the way home from Quaker city drags, gernaded the throwout bearing and bent the clutch fork. And I also got ran off the road by a semi into a orange barrel.

Ok, I get all of that fixed. And on my test drive, I was driving like normal, banging gears faster than most auto trannys. I get a tick in 3rd gear that goes with rpms. Well, I pulled off the PTO cover and I fished most of 2 teeth out of the bottom. They used to sit on 3rd on the countershaft. It still drives just fine, it doesnt have a problem in 3rd gear pullng its self. I dont think I'll drag it at Scheides unless its fixed by then. And dont forget, this is from a 300hp truck

Also if anybody out there has a good NV4500 countershaft laying around, email me.

this will be copied across about every diesel board that I can find

Wayne, we're sitting on two core NV4500's. Gitchoor butt down here, we can disassemble and exchange what you need (no charge, and plenty of help). Lemme know ASAP, email me or call Will. If you're afraid to drive it and got no other car, I'll truck the parts on up there. I'm only off Wed. & Thurs. this week, though...

This is whats great about TDR, you have a problem and people jump in to help you fix it.

Also Tom, it is a bad thing to offer me free parts. I might start driving how I consider hard. :--) I could figure out how to shift w/o the clutch or letting off the throttle and we will be pulling pieces of the synchros out of the dash.

That's a great offer from Tom. It's hard to beat the TDR with guys like that :) Glad you were able to get it taken care of Wayne.

If I slowed down, it would be any fun.

For all of you who say the gap between 3rd and 4th is very big towing, try 2rd to 4th. Here is how I know this.

My boss laughed at me today for breaking it again. He has a 01 F350 SRW extended cab, long bed 4x4 auto PSD. he broke down about 2 hours after he told me that. And who do you think grabbed the gooseneck trailer to bring him back home. The broken Dodge drags home the broken Ford. Had a little clutch smoke slipping the clutch on the shift to 4th. The Ford acted like the sensor went out on the HUEI oil pressure, or something related to it. just another day in wayne's wierd world.
