Where do I get the parts to convert to the BAHF and where is the best place to buy a BAHF filter? Thanks

The only parts needed are the filter. Do a search and you will find part numbers for all the stores the carry it. I got mine from Napa to use while cleaning the Scotty. .

I can hear the turbo more with the Scotty but the BHAF beats stock. :D

NO, the proper NAPA or similar filter will attach directly to the rubber Turbo intahe tube, and it sits in the space where the stock filter housing now is mounted.

How do you bolt it down forgive my ignorance and thanks for the picture. Is that some kind of sock on it or is that how it comes? Also, what about under hood temps does it effect anything not drawing from the fender like the stock one does.

That's just an outer cover my wive sewed up for me until I gat an outerwears cover for it - here's how it looks when completed:

The BHAF will sit there all on its own, but most users cover the bolts from the original filter housing with something like short sections of rubber hose to keep them from wearing against the BHAF filter housing.

And here's some part numbers for the actual filter element sold by different suppliers:

Remove the stock air box, there are 3 studs sticking up that used to hold the stock air box. Put a piece of small rubber hose on the end of each one to keep them from poking a hole in BHAF. Also put a piece of hose over the AC line where the BHAF touches it to keep it from rubbing. I linked a bunch of zip ties together and tied my BHAF to a hole in the fender. Do a google search for the BHAF heatshield template, it's easy to make and install yourself.

Gary's BHAF has a cover on it, he can tell you where he got it...

As far as the underhood air temperature goes, I noticed approx. 100* drop in max EGT after I installed my BHAF so it's not an issue for me.

That's the original BHAF thread 20+ pages of reading. It will answer all of your questions.

"Gary, what did you use to cut the hole in the filter for the filter minder?"

As I recall, it was a 3/4 inch wood drilling bit - the thickness of the end cap on the NAPA filter like mine is too thick for the rubber grommet of the filter minder to properly engage as it does on the stock airbox, but it's such a snug fit, there's no danger of it coming loose.

Gary,

Did that air filter in your picture have the end closed off when you bought it? Or did you have to close it off to put your filter minder in it?

The end is capped right from the maker - and it's pretty thick rubber/plastic, about 1/4 inch or so - which is what makes it hard to simply use the original rubber filter housing grommet used by DC - I suppose a fella COULD slightly countersink or relieve the area around the hole to get it to the same thickness as the stock housing, but hardly worth the effort, the rubber bushing is a good snug fit in a 3/4 inch hole, and won't fall out or leak...

Okay my curiosity has peaked what is a BAHF? I have heard this used many times and always left wondering what it means.

WOW I just got the Bhaf pictures don't do this thing justice. It is huge my whole fist will fit inside it. Can't wait to try it.

Guys... Even though they don't list it, sometimes Geno's has them or can order one for you. I recently picked one up from them and it was VERY competatively priced.
