I am looking for a little feedback on the quality of the Bak roll top tonneau cover for my truck. I have been driving myself crazy with this purchase, but cannot find anyone who owns this particular cover. Anyone with any feedback on this cover, would be greatly appreciated. . Thanks, Roy.

I to struggled with this decision and i almost bought the Bak roll back cover. i finally settled on the RETRAX and i am very pleased with my decision. it is made of a sheet of lexan plastic. the web site explains it very well. the good thing about the dodge is there is only one minor adjustment when installing. it pretty much drops into place. also, there are no straps or springs, you just pop open the latch and slide it back and forth. it also locks at any postion. Let me know if you want pictures.

The ReTrax is great... had mine on for several months. Even through a deluge in the car wash, it stays relatively dry. I wax it when I wax the truck, stays in position wherever I lock it down and there are no darned springs to wind up! For the long beds, they still sell the old style with the raised storage box, but it still looks great! Installed it in less than an hour by myself... couldn't get the kids to help!

Here are some pics of my RETRAX. Note the i spent an extra 35 to get the stake pocket cut-outs and added some bully retractable tie down rings.

Wow, That really looks Great. Now I am even more confused, until today, I never even heard of ReTrax. Allow me to ask you this, is that similar to the pace edwards jack rabbit, Having that vinyl layer on the top or is it rugged and able to take some abuse without damage to it. I like that the box is flush to the truck bed rails. Now for the price, How much does the Retrax set you back and what kind of warrenty does it have? Thanks. (great pix)

no, it is much better than the pace edwards. it is made out of a flexible sheet of lexan, the same material fighter jet windshields are made out of. it also has aluminum slates that run accros it with the bearings at the end that ride in the tracks. they will send you a demonstration video, they beat on it with a hammer and have peoplestanding on it. the jack rabbit by pace edwards is vinyl bodded to aluminuim, and it looks like crap. if you get the motorized pace edwards bedlocker they, it has solid aluminum slats, but it is pricey and motorized. i bought my retrax through truckgadgets.com. it was $890 for a short bed, plus 35 for the stake pocket cut outs, plus free shipping, but wait there's more. last month they had a special, they threw in a free electric lock for the cover, but i asked them to throw in a trail seal tailgate gasket instead. the lock was a $70 value and the gasket was like $30, but i don't care. if you really want something different, check out the Teragon, but i havn't heard anything positive on those.

it has a one year limited manufactuers warranty against defects. it also doesn't claim to be water proof or theft proof. but i did wash it tonight and no water got in the bed. when installing it, us 3g dodge owners get to ignore half of the directions because there is no shimming involved for us. also, the drain tubes that come out of the bottom of the canister can be directed out the side of the bed behind the foreward cleats, which is good because the right side of our beds don't have a drain, at least mine doesn't, and my left one was linex'd over any ways. i tell you i think i bought the best cover.

I just called called Truckgadgets and inquired on the retrax. $910. 00 delivered. They are also including the electric lock and the rear tailgate gasket. That includes shipping. I am going to sleepn it one more night and make my choice tommorrrow. Thanks for all the feedback...

I wanted to thank you for helping make my choice alot easier. I purchased the retrax and just installed it the other day and love it. I had one small issue, they forgot to ship all the hardware, but rapidly resolved by truckgadgets.com. They were a pleasure to do business with. Thanks again. Roy
