I talked to Master Balancers today after reading about the in the last TDR magizine and they said that the drive shaft balancers will fix the dreaded 70 mph vibe the the QC 2500 4x4 trucks have. Has anybody tried these to se if they do?

That looks like a good idea even without the vibe. I think it would probably make the U joints last a lot longer and pay for itself that way.

My '05 3500 QQ/LB with 4. 10:1 limited slip had the 70 mph vibe problem.

Dealer ballanced the tires, don't fix it.

Dealer ballanced or replaced driveshafts, resulted in minor improvement.

Finally Dealer replaced rear axle assembly, Vibe problem is now gone.

my '05 3500 qc drw w/4. 10:1 has a vibe at 75 mph. dealer replaced front driveshaft

helped a little at first but now is worse again. they said crysler has an investigation

for this problem.

I have a 04. 5 QC DRW 4x4 that has this stinking vibe problem. Took it to the dealers about it and the first (and the last) thing they did was balance the tires. Didn't help a bit, as I knew it that it would not.

Here is where I found a little help. I wanted to lower the back of the truck to help level it to my travel trailer so I moved the spacers on the rear springs from the bottom to the top which lowers the rear about an inch and a half or so. The first thing I noticed other than the better looking stance was the vibe was about half of what it was before lowering it.

I know it is not the cure but it did help me a little bit. A whole heck of a lot more than what the dealer was able to do.

Yeah right, to be completed by 2015. I'm sure DC is working hard to solve the problem. Maybe they will figure out how they screwed up sometime in the next five years. Then it will take them another 10 years to figure out how to fix it. They still have not figured out the problem with the ball joints and the lift pumps yet. I don't expect DC to call me anytime soon to tell me that they have found what causes the vibe and that they want to fix my truck. Truth is they already know what the problem is, they just don't want to spend the money to fix the problem. You have to buy a Japanese vehicle if you want to deal with a company that will stand behind their product.

Wish on! I deldt for several years with NISSAN trucks with a 55 to 70 mph vibration. Nissan had a answer. NO REPAIR PERIOD ITS NORMAL. They wanted customers to be made aware before purchase and NO repair would be made or attempted. It was inherited in the truck. Most we did was balance tires etc. Never saw the vibration cause any kind of failure of anything. It was a shake from the rear and very obvisious. Cadallic Broughams had a moan boom/vibration(some not all) at 70 mph. 28 page TSB with a warning that any and all may or may not repair said vehicle. Then the TSB was undated. PERFORM NO REPAIR and contact DSM for buyback if customer desires. Had a DSM tell me on one that IF I replaced anything to correct it they(G. M. )would NOT PAY the claim and offer owner eaither live with it or start buyback procedure. So don't assume its greener on the other side of anything.

Thats just my experience. I willing to bet if you went to buy a new Dodge today that you would have a very difficult time finding ANYONE who will admit that there has been a problem with vibrations. Dodge knows there is and they have continued to sell these trucks w/out any sort of warning or disclaimer. Thats unacceptable for amount of money they change for these trucks. I love my truck but I'm less than impressed with how DC does business. This will be my one and only DC product.

I have one on the front driveshaft. It helped a little but did not take the vib away. I have moved it all over the shaft and found the one spot that it helps. Thought it was a good idea but I can do the same thing with hose clamps.
