Balanced Extrude Honed Injectors

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies

Thanks, TDR Staff

Manifold spacer for EGT probe

We at Dynomite Diesel are proud to announce the arrival of our Extrude Hone machine. This machine is very unique, and will give us the ability to balance your injectors, so that they flow the same. Matching your injectors will help your truck run and idle smoother, while increasing performance. The same technology recently helped the fastest 4x4 get into the low 10’s. Also Piers from PDR just made 685hp on our DynoJet, with our injectors, a TST Box, a PPE box, medium sized compounds and a cam on his 04. 5 common rail.

Until the end of February we will be offering substantially reduced prices on our custom injectors. You can send in the whole injector, or just the nozzle. Extra charges will apply to anything that is not just a nozzle, for disassembly cleaning, and the adjustment of opening pressures.

The horsepower level is up to you. These will be custom which means you tell up HP level you are trying to achieve, but, we will help you decide what is within the limits of your current modifications

As I said these are extremely low prices, that will probably go up by 4 or 5 times at the end of February. I wish I could let you all know, but this section of the TDR does not allow pricing info. We do have a waiting list, call soon to get on it so you do not miss out.

If you are in the area and have us do the work on your truck and injectors, we can offer you a dyno run before and after to show you what gains have been made.

Please give Ross call at 360-794-7974.

Thanks

Is this EH machine large enough to handle items like Cylinder heads, Turbine housings and Exhaust manifolds?

Hello Cliff,

Yes the machine is large enough, but we do hot have the tooling, and the media would get too contaminated if we honed them. It is about 1k for 5 gallons. Sorry.

So, if I sent you a set of stock injectors, what kind of cost increase could I expect on a set of 150~200 HP injectors? This compared to just sending the nozzles. I think that this quote will by-pass the "no price" problem for this forum. If not then a PM will work. Thanks, Mike

Uh, no it doesn't bypass the pricing rules for this forum, so keep it in a PM. ;)

Feel up to doing some VW injectors? ;)

How does the media enter the nozzle, does it enter at the top or do you insert a tube so only the seat and hole is affected? IOW is the needle/nozzle play affected? Do you keep track of the individual needles so you don't mix them up during the honing?

Do you do anything to protect the sac area?

Can you check the flow balance on injectors without extrude honing, or is it all done on the honing machine only? What tolerance can you acheive?

No problem on the VW stuff. The media enters at the large end of the nozzle. Even though it is at a very high pressure, the abrasive in the media does not cut until it gets to a very small hole. This is due to the microscopic size of the abrasive material. Needle play is not affetcted at all.

We always keep the needles seperate when honing. That is very easy, since we only hone one nozzle at a time.

Most of the nozzles that we do are VCO nozzles, but on a SAC nozzle, the sac will fill, and the media will divert to the wholes in the nozzle.

We flow test every nozzle before it leaves, and balance each set, so the liters per minute are within 1. The testing is done seperatly from the Extrude Hone Machine.

Let me know if you have any more questions :)

I'll give you a call next week, still have some questions.

Though my stock injectors had to get new tips, they were still a great improvement over other performance injectors I've run in the past. Having a 1st Gen that gets exceptional MPGs, I was only interested in 40 or so HP, and I think I got a little more. Still, smoke was cut to near zero, and off-the-line power was increased. Sorry, no comparisons on the EGT or boost, as I put the gauges in as I was waiting on the sticks.
