I have been reviewing both, and I definitely like the concept.

Centramatics use ball bearings, Balancemasters use liquid. Assuming the liquid never freezes, it must be less noise at low speed. I also wonder about the ball bearings wearing inside the ring.

Thoughts from anyone using either would be appreciated.

I've been using the Centramatics on the dodge, and a couple of big trucks for awhile now, with zero problems. I don't hear them at all. Even if you were obsessed with quiet operation, I don't think that would be an issue.

I have been most curious though about the balancemasters. I've never talked to anyone that used them. . . I'd be curious if the liquid ever started leaking. I would think all the pounding. . . Of course, if the Centramatics ever developed a leak, you would have to throw them away also (problem with liquid getting in and causing an imbalance. )

I have Centramatics and I think the balls inside ride in liquid. You would think that they would wear and have problems but they have been around for some time and I havent heard any negative on them yet. It's possible, I just havent heard it.

I put on a set of Centramatics and never had trouble with vibration from the mud tires again. I still balance the 35" SSRs two or three times a year just to help make me feel good but I probably don't need to. I'm on my second set at over 45k (hard) miles. The first set only lasted 35k but that was before the Centramatics.

Spoke to a nice gal at Balance Masters today. The Mercury inside is a relatively small amount, but flows to inbalance easily, without any friction created. They also are a tad less than the centramatics, with a longer "No questions asked" warranty. The mercury is in a tube, encased in a rubberized seal, just in case of an accident.

Anyone who knows anything about a spill, please chime in. B/M claimed there is a near zero chance of a spill, even in a hard crash hit at wheels.

Both products appear to do the job. Not sure which one I will go with.

Centramatics are noisy with the window down below 40 mph and they don't work. A real waste of money in my opinion. I think the BB's in the tire work better and are quieter and much, much cheaper. You just can't beat a good lead tire balance on highway and all terrain tires.

Little brother been using Centramatics on his big rig front tires for years and thousands of miles. He tells me I should get some and he has had not problem with them. He would not drive a tractor long with out putting them on and when he sells one and gets a new one he takes of the old and puts on the new.

Ok, I now have a very large question for the forum. I use the Centramatics and I am very happy with them. I have no opinions about the Balance Masters, but one question. Their fluid is Mecury according to their site and "How They Work".

So I buy a set of these to try out. I install them and they work just like my Centramatics. Of this I have absolutely no doubt.

Life goes on and all is well except for one thing. I am cruising down the road and am cut off by someone, something, or have a very bad day of it and suddenly I find myself in an Oh My, I have just been in an accident and my rig is comletly wiped out with carnage every where. Oh yea and my brand new Balance Masters with Mercury in them, one is split it's guts wide open and there be Mecury everywhere.

Sooooooo  who pays for the clean up and the fine that the EPA is going to level at me  Will my insurance cover it  Will the Balance Masters cover the cost

I am not bad mouthing the product here, I just have a question that I would like to know the answer to :(

Anybody been through this sceanro yet

Same people that will pay for the fuel spill cleanup. :-laf

So who paid for the cleanup the last time you broke a home thermometer? And I'm sure you properly dispose of those AC thermostats when they go bad - you know, the ones with mercury bulbs inside to turn the AC on and off.

So if the EPA fines you, just sue the company like most other Americans.

I thought Hg thermostats were phased out in the 60's?!?

And if you can hear those beads rattling over that cummins rattle, you need to be making money with your talent.

The beads should meet a point and stay there at a very low RPM. . think about a hoolah hoop with it's ball. . kids aren't turning those things at very high RPM but the ball is staying in one relative position. Once you get going, there is no more metal to metal wear because the beads stop moving around the circumference.

I don't have any. . I desperately need a set from either Co.

I do suggest if you are interested, that you watch the video from centramatic. . It sold the idea to me.

I ordered a set from Centramatic today and Tooter(the lady I ordered them from) told me that the product had an unlimited mile warranty... ... . Who can argue with that? Plus a 30 day no questions return policy... .

Like I said, I ordered a set today. We'll see how it goes.
