I may be tossing my stock lumpy badyears for a set of Toyo Open Countrys in the near future, are there any differences in balancing tires for a dually. How about siping, good or bad? I've had bad luck everytime I put new tires on something so I'm trying to get extra informed this time;)

I never had a problem get mine balanced. Just the same as the others. As far as siping I don't care for it. I drive a lot of gravel roads and offroad driving, and since I had mine done they wear faster. I have been told that they are longer lasting on pavement. Also if you do get them siped have it done at a good shop. They should only sipe the center section. Also I believe Toyo Open Countrys are already siped. Some tires come siped and I would not get them resiped.

Just my opion. I am sure others will pipe in. Has anyone had them siped that drive highway miles?

In a car, yes. Sipping = BAD for tire life.

I've had really good luck with tire wear on my 3500 but I run unloaded. Loaded trucks seem to kill tires quickly. Make sure the inflation is dialed in for the load (or lack of load) and keep up with alignment issues as as they arise too.

If you are one of those who feels the need for extensions to air the inner dually put it on for balancing. Of course then your balance will be off every time you rotate. Better yet don't use the extensions.

I wouldn't even consider not getting my tires siped. 80k on my siped Toyo ATs and they look good for that much more. Of course I do a lot of my driving on ice, snow and my gravel driveway is only 1. 5 miles long.

I haven't had any problem with airing and checking my inners but I did have to add a one inch extension to the outside stems in order to air and check.
