Baldwin filters

I have seen a lot of discusion on types of filters to use but never see Baldwin mentioned. What do you guys think of there filters? I have been useing them for years and would like to know what you all think of them.

That's all I have used on my truck since it was new. No problems.

Used them on my 92 and on the 99 since new. The Fleetguard is a little better price if I could get them without driving 60 miles round trip or pay shipping.

My BHAF is a Baldwin, simply because it is 20 bucks cheeper than the fleetgard and they look identical. I do use the FG stratapore oil filter and FG Fuel Filters

The Baldwin BHAF part # is PA-2820 for 33 bucks at a Truck and Heavy Equipment Parts house near my home.

I also like the Baldwin, but also use Hastings and Wix.

I've used Baldwin oil filters since I bought my truck. Haven't had a lick of trouble. They are high quality filters.

The Oil Fiter TSB

As many of us know, Dodge issued a TSB for what they specify as approved oil filters. Curiously though, Baldwins aren't mentioned. Its anybody's guess as to why.

Because Cummins and Dodge had their OWN filters fail on the 24 valve, they threw together a "quickie" list of "approved filters" to cover their butt.

Obviously, they did not test or check every filter known to man.





Baldwin is one of the best, Hastings is Baldwins less expensive line, still very good.

ran 'em in my farm equipment in the past without any problems. i think lots of the big rigs run 'em. local big truck aftermarket parts place sells 'em to the local big rig mechanics. must be ok... ...

Does Baldwin only make lube oil filters? What are the filter P/N's?



Has anyone heard or used Donoldson filters? I went to one of the local truck stops and they stocked Baldwin and Donoldson. The parts clerk felt that the Donoldson was better than the Baldwin. He had "heard " that some Baldwins had collapsed internally. I was looking for filters for the Cummins but most all of the stock were for the big rigs

... ..... is a major player in the filter arena. Baldwin BHAF is PA2820. i don't know the oil filter number, but i'm sure they make one for our trucks.

steve, is that a substitute for the stratapore Fleetguard, or the microglass?? i couldn't cross the stratapore that is now recommended for our trucks??

Herb, Actually I don't have the answer to that. I will try to look at the Baldwin book tomorrow where I get my filters and see which it is.

Filter numbers

Baldwin makes all kinds of filters.

The oil filter for the 12v is BT339 or BT7339 for the 24v. I can't remember the fuel filter number and the invoice is at home.

They told me last time I bought the oil filter it was changed to BT-7339
