Has anyone tried any of the the ball bearing turbos on a 03-04 that is out on the market that is running a few mods to your truck and have these turbos been perfected yet. I'm running diesel dynamics jammer turbo on my 03 and noticed they have a ball bearing turbo listed now and I heard that these new ball beraing turbos turbos are supposed to be the THING when it comes to upgrading from what you got as a bushed bearing turbo. I pull a trailer and was wondering what kind of boost lag or any with this kind of turbo and can you go bigger without getting boost lag, I really dont want to go to twins just a bigger single if I could just the pros and cons. Any advise is appreciated

I believe the first production run was a failure. Mine failed and after a couple of months it sounded like they were not going to be able to fix the problem. You might want to Email Keith at Diesel Dynamics and ask him. Joe D. is running one on his 3rd gen and seems to be very happy with it.

so is anybody else making a good ball bearing turbo? Are these turbos not better than the bushed bearing ones everybody running now?

I looked into them for my twins. Most turbo shops said to avoid them. I was told the fords were using them, but they were not holding up to the Cummins well. Turbonetics, and Garrett were the two brands I was told would not hold up. I have not asked recently, maybe there have been improvements.
