Exhaust brake installation

Diesel Freak, . 75 on the intake and . 85 on the exhaust on the 88MM and I've now been told it was built locally and I know the guy so I'll pick his brain.

I think a great market for this BB turbo is for the crowd that wants a bigger-"small" turbo in a twin setup. Lot's complain about lag, and the BB seems like the perfect answer. ;)

I have had mine(HX35) roller balled now for about 35,000 miles. The gentleman who did it is a racer buddy of mine who doesn't run in diesel circles and was tired of my complaints about slow spool up. He was not sure how it would hold up to abuse of daily driving but it has pefrormed flawlessly. I know I am not no power monster but those who have seen it on a jet or ridden in it will attest to how well it performs. Roller balls are a very good idea and more needs to be done for our applications. Its a shame these big hybrid builders haven't done it sooner... ... ..... Andy

I emailed Piers asking about the ball bearing turbo and when it would be available. This is his reply:

"Yes, we are still working with Garrett on the ball bearing turbo. We still have two more variations to test before we can rate them properly. We'll put an announcement on our web site once all the testing is done. "

I just hope it is not prohibitively expensive.

I bet it is. ;) :D

That still won't stop anybody though. :p

if they do a version to be a direct bolt on to the 3rd gen i'll be very interested. i like my little turbo just fine for now, but when the bombing bug bites, i'll need something a bit better, but i want it to spool down low real good... [unless i can get my grubby mitts on a he400 variable geometry & controllers for a good price :D:D]

Chris,

No "brain" will be needed for a bb turbo. The VGT(what Dean has) needs a brain for it, but there is nothing that needs to be controled on the bb's. :)

I know where there's a HX 50/55-class charger with "ball" bearings being tested on a p-pumped truck. :D

This particular application is VERY expensive. :eek: :eek:

First impressions::--) :--) :--) !

Sometime later it started making noises. :rolleyes:

Details when the monster gets developed. :p
