'02 4x4 auto 120K on the clock. At highway speed (65-70mph) I have a slight, barely noticeable noise coming from the front end when in a turn. When you enter a bend in the road (left or right, makes no difference) you pick up a faint grinding noise. Straighten out and it goes away. Wheel bearings ?

wheel bearings

I have a 2002, 4x2 though. I had the ever increasing noise in the front end as you describe. When I got around to checking it out I found both spindle nuts were lose causing the bearings to fail. I never did determine wether the vibration of a failed bearing was the cause of the loose nuts or vice versa. Replacement was covered under warranty for me. Good thing the bearing, hub and lock nuts are replaced as a unit. Very pricey.

Mr. Mike.

Could be? Are you getting any vibration? What size tires? Does it go away after 70 and doesn't start till 65? @ 60 it's not there?
