I did mine at 72k on my current '06, about the same on the '03 QC. The rest of them I either didn't keep that long or in the case of the dually, it was hooked to a heavy gooseneck 95% of the time and maybe that takes some weight off the front. I am pretty sure the cause is a really heavy engine on an axle that is probably just a little too light duty![]()
A gooseneck hitch is usually at least 2in in front of center of the rear axle. Some mounting kits may vary a little do to cross members and other obstacle in the way. Ideally they put around 400 lbs on the front axle depending on tung weight, loading all 4 corners. Thats one of the things that makes goosenecks handel so well. You know, when you turn into a intersection a little hot and there is gravel on the road the front tires do or dont slide. I hate that.
