Ball joints revisited???

total in parts. $480 for ball joints and axle joints.

I didn't have time to order mine myself so I let the dealer do it. I have no problem with them making a buck, but they charged me $393. 18 for just the uppers... K7448. After I paid the bill and all was done I went online and found them at Rockauto (I think) for $187. 58. I thought about telling them about rockauto because I'd be willing to be they paid more than that. The rest of the parts were much more reasonable. for some reason the nailed me on the uppers.

I'm not going to complain too much though. After getting the ball joints, axle joints, axle seals done and changing the PS fluid myself, this "old" truck drives as good or better than new. I can't believe how much easier the steering wheel turns. I drove for a while after the fixes but before the fluid change. Something in my front end had been binding/sticking/tight for a very long time. It's almost like driving someone else's truck now.

My bad. I was off $80. Ball joints where $319 shipped. and axle joints $80 shipped. . so $400 even for parts.

It will be interesting to see if they are correct numbers-- They list 4 different spark plugs for an 03 diesel. Should I get the standard or or pay the extra for platinum? I've neglected to change mine thus far.
