I'll go with something approximating 10%. I could see a noticeable drop in FE last summer when I accidentally left the hubs locked.

While not having man hubs (I wish) on my sig truck I have run a lot of LandCruisers with same. I would think experience would be similiar.

The biggest fuel savings will be in cooler/cold weather and short runs where diff oil does not get warmed up. I would think the lowest percentage of savings would be had while running down the road AFTER front end is fully warmed up and oil related friction is at its lowest.

Just my thoughts... ...

I decided to go with the DynaTrac ball joints & the Spyntec part time kit. I'm not in the part time kit for added mpg's (All though it would be a bonus, any I do get. ) I want the 2wd low & the decreased wear on the front end.

I just put the Raybestos in my truck. I'm sure they will drive just fine (haven't put it back together yet), but I am wishing I spent the extra money on the rebuildable units. This job was such a huge PITA I hope I never have to do it again. Hopefully these Raybestos will last until I replace this truck!

I need to comment on the Dana - Manufactured in the USA stigma... I'm aware of several items that their old Spicer Clutch Division items that still bear the USA label but I've seen the items in that clutch that come from China and the complete assembly line was moved to Mexico 4-5 years ago... I understand that it should have 51% USA materials to carry the "made in USA" label but I'd be $50 that the clutches I'm talking about don't meet that test yet still carry the same part number and tag that they've carried for the past 10 years...

With international companies... Arvin Meritor, Dana, Federal Mogul etc. etc... this is a very gray area...

I remember the steering being way lighter on my '86 F-250 with the hugs disengaged. Same deal with my '85 Toyota Hilux. Just shutting down all that rotational mass would be super.

DynaTrac or Carlie. Which would you go with. Both seem to be about the same price. Carlie at least 2 weeks backlogged, not sure about the DynaTrac.

Yeah, DynaTracs are $650-700 and Carli's $800. DynaTrac has has supply problems also. If thta is fixed they may be in stock.
