Ball joints

Has anybody had any trouble with there ball joints or any front end problems,got a clunking noise up front but can't seem to pin point it,I have heard of some 2000 3500s having some ball joint problems. Thanks

On my 99, I have replaced 3 trackbars (2 were somehow bent and 3rd worn out. The fourth one I paid for and got a moog). I have also replaced the ball joints on the drivers side, as well as steering stablizer. I am getting ready to purchase an agr steering box in the next week or so to take care of the play in my stock box.

I had all four ball joints replaced on my '01 @ 3K, yes, 3,000 miles.
Apparently, they weren't greased!

I have had ALL of the ball joints, the steering gear box, the track bar, the steering stabilizer, and the torsion bar replaced on my 99 before 33K, and now at 55K it is in the shop as we speak for the same symptoms as the last time. The new ball joints put on it last time all had grease fittings and I have greased them every 5K, so maybe they are OK this time.

My left lower ball joint was so loud and stiff it felt like it was frozen. When I went to my 5Star #ad
Dealer the Tech had me stand on the rocker panel and rock the truck for about 10 min. After he isolated the noise he took a propane torch to the ball joint and got it to quiet down. I will be bringing the Ram to have the ball joint change this Wed. Get this, the Service writer said they would take it off, inspect it and SEE if it NEEDS to be replaced. I am ready for one h_ _ _ of a fight! What ever form of lubrication it had is now melted and pooled somplace inside it!
My truck has 3080 miles on it. This is a common problem... and the replacement is the same kind... sans grease zerk! #ad

I just replaced uppers and lowers on both sides. Driver's side lower was extremely loose, tire moved . 5-1. 0" while truck was on the lift. Replaced with Spicer ball joints with grease fittings on all four.

What brand are the ball joints you guy's are finding for the 98. 5 and 99 truck? What store are you buying them from?

I called Moog and they said they didn't have them. Could not find them in the TRW catalogue either.
