I bought my 05 used in 2008 with 75K miles on it and had to replace axle joints and ball joints when I got it. I put in greasable Moog's. 40K miles later at 115,000 miles I had to replace them again, went back to the OE ball joints from my local dealer. As I type this, my truck sits in my shop, with the front end apart as I need ball joints again at 176,000 miles. Spent the money on Carli's as I really hope this is the last time I do this.

Just replaced upper and lower both sides at 137K getting ready for winter. U joints were shot and have been for some time. Bought the truck with 107K on it. Replaced them with Moog's from O'Reily's. If they don't last, at least I'll know how to change them next time.

I hope they last for you. Went 245k miles on my originals. I have 47k on the Moog replacements and they have more play than the originals had when I replaced them. I grease them every 5k. Definitely won't use them again.

I just replaced upper and lower joints on my 06 at 150,000. I replaced the struts at the same time. Drives like a new truck now.

My 2004 ball joints were still good at 180,000 stock tires, KORE Chase suspension. Only front end parts I changed were the hubs at about 120,000.

Which MOOG do you use? There are more than one.

The problem solvers are the upper end line for MOOG and carry a lifetime warranty. I've always had good experiences with MOOG on other vehicles but have heard mixed reviews on these heavier pick ups. There is not much of a selection for the older trucks and I ended up choosing MOOG on my 98 when I had to replace them. Wish there were some more options for rebuildable units for the 2nd gens like you guys have on the 3rd gens.

At least for my GM A body, the problem solver joints have knurling at the press-fit area and are bigger diameter for use after a couple replacements have opened up the hole in the knuckle. I would mike whatever joint you plan to use, vs. what is in there now. Don't wallow out the hole more than needed, and make pressing them in more of a job than it needs to be.
