Which adjustment is for the 1 - 2 shift? Inside the pan or on the left side externally? After I did the torque to 72"# and back off it seems to do the 1 - 2 shift different? Not bad or anything just different. Thanks

band adj.

The external adjustment is for the 2nd gear band. The difference you feel is likely the change in clearance and the time it takes for the band to apply. It is important to not have the band too tight as it can cause overlap on the 2-3 shift. The adjustment in the pan is for the low/reverse band. HTH
