Anyone out there own one. I was thinking of getting one and would like to hear from people that own them. Trying to find out the good and bad points and what features people like on them.
It's a circular saw rather than a band saw. I've milled with him and only personally seen the band saw mills go. The Lucas mill would bury any band saw type mill in the dust (literally). He has the 20 horse and they have come out with a 25 that we both agree would be better yet. The blade is such that you cut in both directions instead of cutting, going back and cutting again. Much faster if you're milling all day long. So far he milled all the studs, plate, floor joists and most of the roof for his house (6000+ sq. ft. ) and between this summer and last we did 3 barns and much more. It's designed to be portable and used in the woods, so very little maintenance is required while in use.
