Does any one have information as to the size of the fuel filter out to injection pump and fuel input to injection pump Banjo Bolts,

on a 96, 5. 9? Thanks for the help. :p

From that site - I think we would need a C1FM55. F15M style... .

I think the DBF won't work... . it has two sets of holes, but they aren't stacked right on top of each other like the style we need.

Bill: Do you have to drill a second set of holes on the F15M style banjo bolts? All the OEM bolts I have seen have two sets of holes... .

I could be wrong... .

Matt;

The illustration on the catalog page depicts 2 sets of holes at approximately 90° to each other on the F15M style bolts.

The DBF banjo bolt is made for stacking two banjo fittings on top of each other. The F15M is the one you want, it has four holes that appear to be larger than the Cummins part.

Scott, I bought the bolts to tap for FP gauge ports but have been swamped, haven't forgotten you.

Banjo Bolts

Hey guys thanks for the input. It sounds like the bolts I need are the F15M as I want to drill for Fuel Pressure Gage. Thanks again. :)

(For clarification) Bill: If I interpret this correctly, the F15M style bolts from these guys could in essence flow more fuel than the OEM banjo bolts?

Is the longitudinal hole the same or bigger (it can't be much bigger... . we're already pushing the limits) in diameter?

Banjo Bolts

Matt I ordered a banjo bolt for the injection pump fuel inlet from Dodge it is to be in tomorrow Thursday mourning. It is suppose to be a F15M-16-1. 5. Illflem is correct, not that I doubted him. I will let you know if it is correct. Talked with Cummins today and they could not tell me what it was. They said they had no record of the item because it is a Bosh pump, they show the fuel line going to the inj pump but do not know how it attaches, believe it or not. Thanks Guys. Bill

Matt, the longitudinal hole is a bit bigger. When drilling for a 1/8'' port tap on a OEM bolt though the bolt hollow the correct bit has to enlarge the hole a hair. On the bolt from Hydraulic Supply the bit has room to spare. I haven't compared the four holes though the side to the OEM but just from my recollection they seem to be bigger also.

I don't think a larger flow path though the bolts will increase flow anyways, the real bottleneck to increased flow is the filter.

Well still have not received correct bolt from Dodge. I ordered banjo bolts (F15M-16-1. 5) from HSC like Illflem suggested hope to have them by Friday.

Have another Question. After removing and replacing injection pump fuel supply banjo bolt is there an easy way to re-prime pump to remove air or do you just crank the engine over until it starts, being careful not to over heat the starter?

Bill, if you just remove the bolt on the IP there will be no need to bleed. Your engine may run rough for a few seconds before it clears up.

Another tip with the bolt is to leave the sealing washer closest to the IP in place, paint will hold it. If the outer washer stays in place leave it also. I've never had to replace the sealing washers after changing the bolt.

Thanks for your reply, I'm still in the learning process on diesel engines and thought it might be good to ask so I can make it look like I know what I'm doing. :D
