Two. One between the bolt head and banjo fitting, and one between the banjo fitting and the surface on which it seats.

yes 2 per bolt , but if you don't hurt them on removal you can reuse them the one under the bolt head doesn't come off and the one under the fitting will screw along the threads on removal ,

i've had mine off many times and haven't bought any to date ...

no you didn't

its still there , you wouldn't believe the places things can hide , i've always found stuff i dropped , there are a number of ledges in and around the side of the block in the area of the fuel components.

Actually I dropped two replacing my bolts. Found one. Wasted 2 hrs on the other one because I too knew it was there. Then I went and bought one.

The crush rings are Cummins part number: 3935171 you need 4 to do a lift pump, they can be re-used, but they are not designed to be, at a dollar each, its cheap insurance to change them as recomeneded with teh lift pump change. When i ordered my lift pump, they sent the rigs with it.

i stand corrected ...

lurch , my truck did its best ford imitation and one of the nuts holding my turbo on was MIA , looked everywhere , but its gone ...
