I understand that the easiest way to connect a fuel pressure gauge is to replace one of the "Banjo bolts" with Ray's Banjo bolt from Geno's.

I have seen several post, however, that indicate that all the banjo bolts should be replaced. My questions are:

What function do the banjo bolts perform?

What are the advantages of replacing all the bolts?

More Fuel Flow

These are special bolts that connect all your fuel lines to the filter and then on to the injector pump. There is a hole drilled on the bolt to allow fuel to flow from the lines and through the bolt. The stock bolts were drilled out to . 130". Many TDR members believe this restricts the fuel flow, especially if you BOMB your truck. They have either drilled out the bolts themselves, or bought the sets from Geno's, made by Ray Torresdal. They have been drilled out to . 187". If you have a current copy of Geno's catalog, you can find more information, including pictures... ;)

a word of caution. . on drilling your stock bolts.

it leaves them with a pretty thin wall and overtightening can cause them to twist and break off.

I believe the rave over Ray T's bolts is, he has overcome that problem as well as increasing the flow.

for your application, if you simply want a fuel pressure check point you could just use that one out of the kit.

if you dont plan to leave the guage on see the post from Briar Hopper about a cheap gauge you can make up, that will fit the "mrs schreader valve" you have now.

the parts needed are:

1) Black Magic charging hose: H3M-Y,or R,or B

1) Universal dry pressure guage: 0-60psi will do, I used -10 to+60

1) 1/4SAE to 1/4NPT adapter

1) 1/4 to 1/4 coupler
