I just installed the new Banks 3rd Gen intercooler on my 2005 last weekend. It went great. It is impressive. It is much larger than the stock cooler-3in. wide vs. 2 in. The tubes are also bigger. I can't tell any difference in performance yet. I have not added any other mods-they are coming next week. I feel that I need more fuel? For what it's worth, I am unable to get my truck to puch black smoke anymore. I have been trying to post pics, but no luck.

You mean your stock truck was making black smoke??

Banks intercooler, huh? How much that set you back? There are a few aftermarket intercoolers out there, be interesting to see the differences between them.

You are here by warned to stay away from banks products. Don't even think of using one of their fuel boxes.

Don't mean to flame but, a spade is a spade.

Mac

I think they around 1100. 00, the banks has bigger inlet and outlet than the others from what I have read, includes all the pipes and their High Ram. There is a write up in issue 48 and a picture.

Just because their box isn't that great and their products are expensive, it doesn't mean Banks doesn't have some nice stuff! Please, the bashing is getting really old :(

agreed Oo.

I seen those intercoolers and they looked pretty decent to me... Let us know

how it works out for you... I have the good old plastic end capped 05 intercooler. Till I blow it apart that is... working on it.

We have the new Banks intercoolers in stock. They are HUGE and come with all new tubes, hoses and High Ram. The new tubes have a rolled lip on the ends to help keep the boots from blowing off under high boost conditions. Should make a noticeable difference in performance under load especially towing with a fueling box.

Dave, does Banks make intercoolers for 2nd Gen trucks? Vaughn
Vaughn, I don't think so as none are listed in the catalog, but I will check for you and if they do I will let you know.
