2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission banks 4 "

I have a banks 4" monster exsaust. does anyone know where I and get a 4" pipe to replace the muffler and go to a stright pipe. do they make an addapter or do I need to search the muffler shops.

To go to a straight pipe where the muffler was is easy or hard depending on if it was welded together or clamped.

If it was clamped, clime under and mesure the length of the muffler from end of pipe to other. Talk to your local parts store or muffler shop might be easier and get a 4" pipe cut to lenght with a 4" OD on one side and a 4" ID on the other cut to the length you mesuered off the muffler. Clamp it where the muffler used to be.

If it is welded, my suggestion is take it to the muffler shop and have them weld a new pipe in. That is if they are not so uptight they just tell you no. I don't know what the emission laws are in your state.

Be careful about the in cab drone you will get at certain RPM's I also have the 4" exhaust from Banks and a year after it was put on I decided I wanted the straight exhaust sound. Sounded great for about 4 months until the dreaded drone drove me crazy. I went to my local muffler shop and started looking through his Magnaflow catalog looking for a very small muffler that had a 4" inlet and outlet. I found exactly what I needed. The muffler that I have is about 8" in length with a 4" inlet and outlet and probably about 7" in diameter. It has enough sound absorbtion that I no longer have the in cab drone but is small enough to give me the straight exhaust sound. I love the way my truck sounds. Good luck Oo.
