Banks/Aeroturbine ??????? help

My Banks monster system came in Friday. My Aeroturbine & TAG won't be here 'til Monday. Talked with Tony at A-T and DPP as well and they both said the A-T should be as far forward as possible for the best benefit and to cut down the exhaust noise. I'm thinking---and only thinking right now mind you that I may like the benefit of the full 4" Banks exhaust (it's a beautiful piece(s) and thanks for the drop shipment DPP) and the A-T but without the Banks dynoflow muffler. The CTD on the A-T website sounds VERY nice!! If I go the no-banks muffler route I would prefer to sell it to any interested members here first and I'd hate to sell one of you oustanding folks a used part ya know? Also and perhaps a bigger problem is where the heck can a guy find comparable stainless pipe to go in place of the muffler if I take it out or don't install it? I guess this a nice problem to have. I got what I think to be an excellent deal on the three pieces together (thanks again DPP) but arghhh---what to do???????????

Any muffler shop should be able to cut you pipe, If not geno's has a pre cut pipe. I could be interested in the muffler.

I found a local marine shop that I'll call Monday that may have pipe but no local muffler shops have any stainless 4 inch pipe. Gotcha on the muffler Tim. I'll post again when I it get all installed or whatever I wind up doin' so be lookin out. Say, you wouldn't hold it against me if the muff was used just enough to say nahhhhhh and I took it back off would ya?

you may want to rethink that or at least hold onto that Banks muffler for a while. I had an exhaust with the AT alone and it really roared under a load. The sound file is acurate, that is the way it sounds sitting still and revving the engine. It is different when driving, and it had the dreaded resonance at 2000 RPM. After 5-6 mos I added a straight through louvered muffler and things were much improved. Sound went back to like stock and the resonance is gone.

Thanks, Fireman. The sound on the A-T website is a little different than the one on the DPP site and includes a little bit if stuff under load. I will probably put the whole unit together first and go from there. I would just like to let anyone who may be interested in the banks muffler IF I take it off that the muff will be slightly used if that's ok? What would it be worth you think?

If you do decide not to use the Banks muffler and want the pipe to match, we can provide you a Banks extension pipe that has one expanded end. It would need to be cut to length and the other end expanded, but that is one option to consider.

The Aeroturbine in the recording is about 12" back from where the downpipe levels out under the truck, then I have a 4" straight through just before the rear axle. Sounds great (as you heard) and pretty quiet in the cab.
