The previous thread was closed because Banks responded and offered a resolution. Period end of story.



In the past have you seen any Banks threads closed????? There are several that were out there. If they were trying to keep Banks happy as an advertiser then you wouldn't have seen those threads stick around. The previous thread was detiorating rapidly even after a solution was offered.



You think there is censorship here? Go post on the Ford Page or the Chevy page and see just how much censorship the TDR has. Speaking of censorship... ... . how is there such a thing on a privately owned forum? I consider posting to this board a privlage not a right. I think some people take it for granted. Your subcription is for the 4 Issues of the magazine, nowhere do you pay extra for the forums, even tho they buy server hardware, software, and pay for the bandwidth (which is the most exspensive part)... you get all this for free!



What you do with your subcription is your choice... . and only yours.

TDR did not close the thread because it was an advertiser. It was closed because it deteriorated beyond an open, civil discussion. Banks wasn't even able to respond initially due to a posting privilege problem, further compounding the mudslinging.



If TDR was inclined to censor because of a complaint, threads would simply disappear as would this thread we're currently posting in. As stated before during flame fests, TDR weighs each situation openly and fairly.

Here is a <em>Moderator (Amsoilman)</em> posting his own business website on a thread <a href="https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20316&perpage=15&pagenumber=2" target=_blank>Amsoil air filter. . vs. . Time to move on

I'm glad to hear that the other thread was not closed due to Banks being an advertiser. Everyone has had a chance to speak his mind. Perhaps it's time to let this thread die and let the tempers cool off. The TDR is too great an asset to lose over this situation. Time will tell us if the problems have been fixed or not. Those who are not convinced will not buy from Banks, and those who buy their products please let us know if you encounter any problems.
 
Now come on guy's. this flaming thing is getting completely out of hand. First Banks and now even the TDR.



Banks has offered an apology and has provided a means of communication that just may solve some of OUR guys problems. We all ought to give them the chance to right any wrongs from the past.



I do not even for a second believe that the TDR administration stopped that thread because of fear of losing revenue from Banks or anyone else. And speculation that the TDR and there staff did that without any proof is Damn sure wrong. Once an accusation like that has been made there will be those that take it as fact, and that also is wrong. Dont let this happen just stop it now. Gunny

I take it your refering to Rob Spading? I haven't gotten an email from him in a while. He wanted out I believe and was offered an oppurtunity so he took it. When did you start paying to use this site? There was no addtional charge added to the subscription price. Do you know how much internet bandwidth costs? Thats the biggest exspense when running something of this nature. And then we can add in software liscense, hardware which needs upgrading from time to time, and then a staff (even tho its small) to run it. And your subscription is still $35. No more, no less.



Eventually it would outgrow the advertisers that Rob had and he would have started losing money on the deal. Due to hardware needs, bandwidth needs etc.

The current traffic level and server costs are not something a person could do for free..... TDR traffic is 3 times what it was when Rob left thanks to active search engine promotion and many times greater than it was before TDR became a members-only site.

This site is a wonderful resource as are all the great people who share their knowledge and experience. In all groups there will be unhappy folks that dont agree with something and this is a large group. I believe this site is very well run and is being improved all the time, Thank you TDR.

Would anybody that has posted about a Banks complaint recently please let us know the out come of your interaction with Banks. If they are taking good care of you lets hear that too. Its easy to blast someone and harder to give credit. I dont buy from Banks for one reason only, high price compared to other vendors.

Come on guys be fair, if they are trying hard let us know, if they are blowing you off, Hangem high.

Guys,

As I have said before, give Banks a fair chance and take them up on thier offer to correct an old problem . What have you got to lose, a few minutes time on the phone ? Heck its an 800 number so you don't have to spend a dime. Lets hear from the guys who have given them a shot and see what they have to say. Then If Banks blows it, Burn Baby Burn;)
 
Anyone notice their are 5 new "Banks" members. Gale, Colin, and three engineering people. I think thats definatly interesting. So maybe they are trying to change their image and actively persue better relations with the TDR members.



This has got to be a good thing... ... (I hope). I have no "product" experiences for them to correct, my whole problem was with the way I was treated some 1 &frac12: years ago when I tried to get some information. Thats the whole reason I started researching other methods to use and which is why I went that route. I am contemplating trying the high ram intake horn since my current horn/boost gauge tap won't fit under the Air BullDog Hood. I wanna "see" one before I get carried away with it tho... I have an idea of how I want to tap my boost gauge ... . but not sure if it will work.
 
I sent an email... . asking about 1 particular product. We'll see if anything has changed... ... ... ... . kinda anxious to hear their reply if I get one.
 
Well they replied... . within a day. Thats respecatable. I didn't send it to anyone special... I did it through the website... so it wouldn't be "obvious" who I was. I made no mention of TDR.



They are supposed to be mailing me some test reports in the mail.



Mentioned it was designed as a system to compliment their PowerPack. But they will sell seperatly. Overall it seemed like a decent reply.

They didn't try to oversell the PowerPack too much. . they answered my inquiry about one particualr product.



So they will sell it seperatly for $300.

Well I emailed Banks three times, and all three times I had a reply within the same day (during business hours). I made no mention of the TDR or "KatDiesel". So I am hoping this is how they treat everyone from now on. I jsut used their website to send the email... . didn't send it to anyone special or recognizable.



And the person I am talking with is going out of his way to get me what I want and how I want it. I am only getting a High Ram intake for use with my AirBulldog Hood... I have my boost gauge tapped into my horn currently (vertically) and the new hood doesn't have that much clearance... so I need a new intake horn. Well don't "need" it... but its excuse enough for me to buy it and try it.



Granted I prolly would look elsewhere for the power upgrades... . I must say this is definatly a change from how I was treated about 1&frac12; years ago. So those of you with old problems etc please do something about it and let us know how it goes. Interesting turn of events lately.
