Just to add a slight twist to this discussion;

I am a member of a list similar (in structure) to the TDR for the discussion of aquatic plants. A thread several months ago on that list discussed the poor performance and customer service of a retailer. The retailer has now filed a lawsuit for $15,000,000 against the people filing the offending posts, the list administrator, and just about anyone that has since spoken out.

Yeah the suit is frivolous and will almost certainly be dismissed, but the defendants will have to spend several thousands of $$ in lawer fees, etc.

I'm not saying Banks, or anyone else here, might do something similar. But this world is can be a mighty sick place sometimes.

I think a counter suit in this case, PetSwarehouse Vs. "everybody", is pretty much a given. The immediate problem is that the suit was filed in New York and the people affected are all over the US. Each of them will have to hire a NY lawyer at a couple thousand $$ each just to tell the judge what a stupid case it is. If it goes to trial it could potentially be tens of thousands of $$ each. So even if the guy looses, He is only out a few $$ and his time. The folks that "dis'd" him are screwed. Ain't our system grand?

Sorry that this may seem WAY off the TDR radar screen but if this guy prevails none of us will be able to speak our mind on any topic without looking over our collective shoulders.

I wish my bank would apologize.

For years, we've had free checking and now all of a sudden they want me to keep a minimum balance and pay fees on top of that. What a crock! And you know what? Their customer service was never any good. They've always been slow at the drive-up window, even when I'm the only one at the window. What do they do in there? Anyway, just wanted you to know that you guys aren't alone. I think all banks are that way.

Suits or Shirt & Pants

The only good thing about them filing the lawsuit in New York is they CAN NOT lay claim in North Carolina, nor can they in MOST other states. Its the wrong kind of claim, that kind of liable would require filing in all states concerned... ... ... ... Pete

Oh - We're talking about suits now? OK - I have a problem with my birthday suit. For years it's been stretched out around the waist, but now it seems to sag and wrinkle easily. Any suggestions on how to fix that? The rest of the suit is fine, so I'd hate to try replacing it.

LMAO DOC I like that. Im not sure if anyone else got the bank thing or not... LOL Yea, yea thats it my "Banks" :p :p

banks and suits, HA! Funny!

Yup, filing a lawsuit against free speech, that would win customer support!!

Those guys must have said BADDDDDDDDDDD things !

Like they always say..... two sides to every story. .

I have very little experience with Banks, however... Business is business. A company with a solid product and business ethics will have very few complaints. Plain & simple...

In my case, I had three, maybe four different reps call me within 3 years... to find out if I wanted to upgrade my truck. Each time I said no, I wasn't interested. . Guess the last three sales reps didn't write down my response. . Plus it makes you wonder whats happening when the last three sales guys are no longer with the company... .

Hey, look at DTT...

For all I knew, when writing that big check... somebody has a better product for less money... What sold me was the fact that I've YET to hear of a bad experience with Bill's company.

Would I buy from him again, you betcha... and guess what?? so will everyone who hears me talk about DTT.

Amazing how simple common sense approaches far outweigh the fancy dancy sales & advertizing schemes these big exec's dream up... To top it off, they continue to "not get it!!"

Oh well,

Banks, I think your a good company... just need to get back to the basics and leave the fancy talk for the vaccum cleaner salesman. Focus on the customer, and the rest will follow.
