Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Banks big hoss HO VS SO 2001

I just baught a banks big hoss plug in module. It came off a 2001 so. Can I use it on my 2001 HO? My truck is completely stock as of now, is it safe to run it on level 1 before I get an intake and exhaust. Any feedback on this module would be appreciated.
