Pac's electronics are NOT equal to Banks,Banks Brake is are Not equal to Pac's brake. Pac does not make the device to engage the TV cable on 03/04. 5, or do they have the electronics to control the TV motor on 05/07. W/O this You increase premature failure of AT component's and less stopping resistance.

Thanks, makes sense

sorry i miss spoke. .
it does unlock about 40mph and does re-engage about 35mph all the way to about 20mph.
it does this from the signal from the truck ecu not any additional electronics.

I am running the Pac Brake on my '06 and it works great. I have not had a chance to experience the BD or Banks but I can tell you those Banks comparison graphs are the biggest load of crap. If anyone believes those graphs then they must be ignorant enough to buy Banks. My Pac Brake keeps me @ 55mph in 5th gear (G56) down the Grapevine out here i Cali with 15K gooseneck load on the back, so it gets the job done very well.

Only beef I have with the Pac Brake is I bought it in late '07 so it has the older 275 series compressor on it which is on its way out. I guess they have a revised compressor kit out now that is a bit larger and more reliable. Just a upgrade I need to take care of to keep the brake working like it should but I am still VERY happy with the Pac Brake.

I had a Banks on my 01 with the NV5600 for over 100k miles with no problems, and my experience with Banks tech support has always top notch. My dislike on the 01 was that it cut out abruptly with the cruise control, and did not work below 30 mph.

I've got the jake on my current truck, but it doesn't seem to have quite the stopping power of the Banks in the 01. It's still acceptable and effective (less failed vacuum pump after 40k miles), and has a much smoother interface with the cruise control, as well as staying engaged until the vehicle nearly stops.

I was told that a missing hose clamp on the vacuum port tube on the vacuum pump may have possibly allowed a vacuum leak and caused early pump failure. From all the other posts I've heard about this problem, I am not holding my breath that this pump will last any longer, time will tell.

I have had a Banks brake on my truck for years and it has worked very well. I just found out that I can send it back to Banks and have it reflashed to lower the minimun speed from 30/15 to 15/5 mph, only $45 for the flash. That has been my only issue with it, that it had to reach 30 mph before it would engage. With the reflash I would say that it has no issues at all and works very well.

I just installed the Pac Brake on my rig. I can tell you this thing works great. It works very well at low speed all the way down to a stop. I do like the way it is operated off of air pressure and having some air for emergencies is a good thing. I just need a bigger tank and a compressor that has a 100 percent duty cycle.
