Anyone have any thoughts about these, good or bad, do they help anything or just sit there and look purtty, kinda pricey for just a coversation piece.

Come on guys don't bash parts you have not seen in operation. A lot of parts will not show big gains on a dyno but will add to the total pkg,EGTS,reponse, quicker spool up.

Well said. You have to look at the whole picture. More potential for air flow. If your engine don't need more air the High Ram won't give more air. Just looking at the two side by side the Banks just as to flow smoother. And yes, it sure looks purtty!

Think the claims that a BHAF adds HP are true? same scenario in my mind, only helps if engine can't breath. That's my . 02¢

I asked a local shop that sells Banks products about the High Ram and he told me all that it would do is lower egt's. He offered to sell it to me for $275 at the same time I bought my AFE from him.

I bought one and painted it black to match my valve cover. There were no performance gains claimed or expected. I did it for the looks. The stock horn is just plain ugly.

Richard, I believe the high rams are interchangeable, I've yet to research the part numbers.

And sorry for no PM, Don~ is sticking to extrude hone on the common rail injectors.

Thanks

The shortcoming of the High Ram is the way it expands inside as the air flows into it then constricts back down as it exits into the grid heater area. When air is under a lot of pressure and moving rapidly through an area that changes in cross-sectional area you're asking for a lot of turbulence.

Banks claims a reduction in pressure drop on the flow bench.
