DO YOU HAVE TO RUN THE BANKS TURBO WITH THERE INTERCOOLER SET UP. AND HAS ANY OF THE INTERCOOLER CHALLENGED PEOPLE PUT ON A 91. 5 TO 93 INTERCOOLER

Nope. Banks intercooler is a stand alone deal. Easy to install and it works good. My only real complaint is the lame grill mounts sheared after only a few thousand miles of gravel and off road. No big deal if you don't abuse your truck though.

Good luck finding one at a reasonable price though.

If your looking at putting it on your 89, you are going to have to do some modifications to your radiator support.

The Banks folks have got there act together.

Give a call and give your credit card # and they will set you up.

I did it to mine years ago and have been very pleased.

There was a big difference between the Banks and stock.

Don't expect a increase in boost by the intercooler change alone but there will be a noticeable decrease in overall exhaust temperature and it is very nice thing to do for your valves and generall longevitey of your engine if you work it hard.

Cooling the air will generaly give you an increase in Horsepower but I don't know by how much. Banks should be able to answer that and provide you with graphs.

Wouldn't hurt to put on a upgraded intake filter and free flowing exhaust while your at it to maximize the advantage.

You don't have to do anything other than the intercooler if you don't want to.

Having been nearly bankrupt by a local Nazi court, I have been forced to take a different route to meet my intercooling needs. Granted, I have a 91 so I have the grille and space (or most of the space) needed to stuff a 2nd gen cooler in there. I have the hoses and piping from a 94, just waiting on an intake and then the $150 or so to get a used one. Then a day or two for cutting, welding, fabrication.

From what I've read, people who have gone to a Banks IC have been pleased with them. Personally, with all the alternatives available, I think Banks is a little (ok, a lot) pricey, but to each his own. There are people happy with their bang-for-buck from Dr Performance.

I guess it depends on your level of patience.

I have always tried to save a buck in the past but in the end if you shop around and go for the name brand you are usually happier and it increases the value of your whatever.

Nothing more disappointing than spending lots of time and money on something and then not have it work or have marginal improvement.

Ok, I off my soapbox

Good day
