I have been trying to get the top level power pack installed on my truck for the last 3 weeks, what a joke! First off, after paying $160 for next day delivery, the wiring harness for the ottomind wasn't there (oh, you mean you WANT the wiring harness? That'll be another $180, thank you) Then they didn't send me the harness for the pyro, which didn't really matter cause the pyro never has worked, either one! The second computer they sent me still has the same problem of cutting the fuel back at 700 degrees post turbo (no idea pre turbo, their gauge doesn't work) Spent quite abit of time on the phone with the head tech last monday, he called me back saying he was going to send another computer and gauge that he personally tested himself. Friday, still not here, called Banks, they sent a new temperature probe that morning. What happened to the new computer??!! Asked to have the "head tech" call me back, assured he would, yeah right!

It's my own fault for not reading the old threads and seeing that the general opinion of Banks is about the same as mine.

Powder Extreme--I sense some tension--get down to the Crystal bar and knock a couple back and then go pack up the powerless pack and send it back--which I'm sure your doing as I type---chris

I love it!!! in... . EEEEZZZZZ, out D... . D

I needed a good laugh!

Heading down to the Crystal ain't a bad idea at all. You sound like you've been here?

Sorry that you have had a bad experience with Banks. I have the powerpack on my 2000 and I am very happy with it. The powerpack is not designed to have a lot of uncontrolable power but to manage the power coming out of that big cummins beast. Also I have an automatic and it has designs in there to cut back power on TC lockup. If you want to have a screaming machine to take to the 1/4 mile track, don't by Banks. If you want a system to increase towing power and drivability Banks is the way to go. Sorry that you have had problems with Banks. I have not had a single problem with them ever! I also have a Banks system on my '95 Suburban. Good luck with your problems.

I'm not trying to build a screaming machine to take to the track, I'm trying to build a machine that will tow 15k with ease and get good mileage while doing it. But also will fly down the highway empty when you want it to. I had this with my old 12v, now I'm trying to acheive it with the new one. The Banks that I have installed feel pretty strong, but only for a few seconds before it cuts the fuel back. I just talked to Banks, they assured me IT WILL BE FIXED. Some parts are supposed to be there today, they said if that doesn't work they will replace EVERYTHING to do with the electronics with stuff he personally tested, which will be on my doorstep in the morning. But this is absolutely the last straw, as I type this I'm debating if I should even bother.

Guess I'll know within 24 hrs.

I'll add that I too have a Banks system on my '98 Suburban, I'm pleased with it, seems like a quality unit. I did have to weld all the joints though, the clamps would always leak after about a month. The headers are very impressive, the only set I've had that didn't require new gaskets every 2,000 miles.

I just wish they put the same quality into the parts for my pickup.
