Which exhaust Banks cat back or Hog? Hog has both cat back or turbo back, Banks has cat back. Will the cat back perform better or turbo back? It'll be going on 2005 Dodge 2500 4X4,6-speed,AFE stage 2 intake, any opinions!
I think Banks is a bit overpriced, but both would work fine. Removing the cat would give you a little less back pressure, but I do not know how much of a difference that would make. Since you have a 2005 model you could just replace the muffler with a different one or you could get a muffler eliminator kit and have no muffler. Your truck already has 4 inch from the factory... no sense in replacing it unless you really want to.
NMaier is right you can get a muffler and get most of the benefits of the entire system as the stock pipes are 4. 0 inches already. The cork is the muffler and then to a much lesser degree the cat. It will also let your AFE work better as the intake can't work any better then the exhaust will allow it to etc.
Check the site under the search function for muffler changes/upgrades etc you'll get a ton of info.
